The Veterans Affairs Department may be eight years behind schedule and $167 million in the hole on developing a patient scheduling application, but an eagle-eyed reader points out that another initiative seems to be on schedule.
Under the "Coming Soon" section of the MyHealtheVet Web page, VA tells its users, "MyHealtheVet's new logo design will soon be available on our Web site so please stay tuned!"
My reader -- who was one of the Florida VA patients who underwent a colonoscopy with potentially unsterilized equipment -- told me that online access to both the patient scheduling system and his medical records also were once listed as "Coming Soon" items on the page. But they have now disappeared from that section.
It's good to hear that the VA is dealing with important stuff first.
