GSA names new acquisition chief
New GSA official, working in an earlier position, helped draft the president's memo on reducing the government's footprint on the environment.
Mindy Connolly is leaving the Office of Federal Procurement Policy to be the General Services Administration’s chief acquisition officer, an internal GSA memo released this morning.
Connolly starts as the new CAO Feb. 27.
Connolly was a senior procurement policy analyst at OFPP. At OFPP, Connolly worked closely on drafting President Barack Obama’s executive order on sustainability, which he signed in October 2009. The order tells agencies to set up a strategy toward sustainability by lightening their effect on the environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
On Feb. 7, GSA, the government’s landlord, launched an interactive online tool to help building managers identify affordable ways to make office buildings and workplaces more sustainable. It's called the Sustainable Facilities Tool.
Michael Robertson was the most recent CAO, but he became chief of staff at GSA last year.
