STAR at a glance

STAR courses include:

* Leadership — Emphasizes the effective use of self in today's organizational

environment. The course examines the drivers for leadership: the shift to

business and entrepreneurial culture, the shift to a more strategic role

and changes in the way organizations are structured and managed. Based on

the principles of leadership experts and authors James Kouzes and Barry

Posner, the course includes such topics as the strategic function of leadership,

"myself as a leader," individual leadership gap analysis and being a full

business partner.

* Program management — Examines what senior-level executives and managers

must know to oversee multiple initiatives and/or project managers. It is

a facilitated workshop based on the Project Management Institute's Guide

to the Project Management Body of Knowledge. Major instructional elements

include: where things go wrong, project management culture, stakeholder

management, the project front end, effective planning and leading people.
