A persuasive planner. Sardar is not afraid of change. He revamped FERC’s networks to capitalize on cloud technology and moved 90 percent of the servers to a virtual environment. The decision represented a sea change for FERC, and there were skeptics. Sardar, however, sold them on the benefits, in part by leading training sessions himself. The results are improved performance, faster access to information, easier and cheaper infrastructure management, and broader support for teleworking. Next, Sardar plans to tackle desktop virtualization to offer employees more flexibility.
