Mobile security champion. As co-chairman of the CIO Council's Information Security and Identity Management Committee, Carey guided the development of a mobile computing security requirement for unclassified information in just four months. Working with other agency stakeholders, the committee produced a draft that can be tailored to individual agency needs. In addition, Carey led the effort to establish standards for the secure identity-based access of information from anywhere in the world through the deployment of a public-key infrastructure card and the development of a secure network architecture.
