Making it easier to follow the money. Taylor spearheaded the Bank Secrecy Act IT Modernization Program at Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Now nearing completion, the five-year effort has significantly improved FinCEN's IT infrastructure and enhanced the ability of hundreds of law enforcement and other stakeholder agencies to analyze financial data to detect and prevent financial crimes. "This project, which Amy successfully led, is a model for government at its best, in times when tough choices must be made," said former FinCEN director James Freis.
