Navy's new disaster response van runs on solar, wind power

The Navy's salvage service has developed a new command vehicle powered by a photovoltaic solar array and two 1 kilowatt wind generators. The van was built in response to the fuel shortage Navy personnel encountered during Hurricane Katrina.
