Study: Better infrastructure needed for teleworking

Many federal workers won't be able to work offsite because their agencies aren't prepared to do so. "That is a really old way of looking at running an organization," says Nigel Ballard, director of federal marketing for Intel. A study done by the Telework Exchange and underwritten by Intel finds 81 percent of government and business IT decision makers have written business continuity plans should the workforce not be able to get to work. But they also have an inflated confidence that workers will be able to work remotely during an emergency.
