Defense begins gathering data per Open Government Initiative

The White House has instructed every federal agency to publish at least three collections of high value government data on the Internet before the end of January as part of its Open Government Initiative. Lloyd Thrower is the Director of Strategic Planning and Policy for the CIO at the Defense Department. He says they are working on their strategy to meet the requirements of the directive, but they're not starting from square one.
