Kundra: Data center proliferation must end

The Army, the Homeland Security Department and several other agencies over the past few years have been consolidating data centers. DHS, for instance, received money in its 2010 budget to continue to pare down its 24 data centers to two. The Army, meanwhile, plans to issue a request for proposals in January for commercial data centers as part of their Area Processing Centers initiative.
