DISA ordered to contribute to geospatial intelligence suite

The Defense Information Systems Agency and other Defense Department organizations must contribute to a suite of geospatial intelligence visualization tools, according to memo signed by DOD Deputy Chief Information Officer Dave Wennergren on Oct. 14. The Geospatial Intelligence Visualization Services suite is provided by the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, which develops imagery and map-based intelligence solutions for national defense, homeland security and navigation safety. Earlier this year, NGA officials said they wanted to upgrade the agency's data.
