AT&T to speed its network in 6 cities by year's end
The New York Times
AT&T said on Wednesday that it would make improvements that would double the speed of its wireless network in six cities -- Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and Charlotte, N.C. -- by the end of the year. It said a technology called High Speed Packet Access 7.2 was scheduled for installation in 25 cities by the end of 2010. It would reach about 90 percent of its existing 3G network by the end of 2011, the company said.
