Hacker who broke into federal computers loses extradition fight

Hacker Gary McKinnon lost his High Court battle to avoid extradition despite a high profile celebrity-backed fight to try him in the United Kingdom. The 43-year-old ex-Highgate Wood School pupil, who suffers from Asperger's syndrome, could now stand trial in the United States, charged with hacking into 97 top-secret military computers and causing more than $700,000 damage.
