Laptops in ambulances boost emergency care

Metro-area ambulance crews are among the first in the world with the power to tap into patient medical records in the field. Wishard Health Services began testing the system on Marion County's 40 or so ambulances this month. The ability to check a patient's medical history from afar will help paramedics provide better care, experts say, and open the door for research into which emergency treatments produce the best outcomes.
