Army sets up servicewide cyber office

The Army is taking a page out of the Air Force's playbook and by setting up a joint cyber office. In the last six weeks, Brigadier General Steven Smith, the Army's chief cyber officer, says he has moved to Ft. Belvoir to work with Maj. Gen. Jim Huggins, the Army's director of operations, readiness and mobilization. Under the new Cyber Task Force, the Army combined experts from its intelligence and security command, its chief information officer and its operational command to address the service's IT security requirements.
