Alabama agencies turn to online auction site to sell surplus equipment

The city of Fultondale plans to join a long list of other Alabama governments selling their surplus equipment online, thanks to Govdeals.com. About 285 government entities in Alabama, from cities to utilities boards, are registered with the site that has buyers in 50 states and 21 foreign countries. Surplus items include everything from vehicles to office equipment -- anything that is no longer needed for public or municipal purposes.
