Beware: Chipotle Website Poisoned
Food and Beverage // Social Media
Chipotle’s website has been compromised in a way that could redirect visitors or load malicious code onto their computers. The website was redirecting users on Feb. 7 around 6PM (PST) and later became unresponsive. Tripwire, that night, recommended not visiting the site until it is cleaned up.
The hackers apparently gained control of the Chipotle website domain. Technical and administrative contacts for the domain have been replaced with a message from the attacker(s).
The chain’s official Twitter account also was hacked.
The handle @chipotletweets was commandeered by someone going under the alias “TheCeltic666” who claims to be part of a group called TUGFeds. The restaurant’s Twitter account icon was switched with the image of a Nazi flag and several tweets from the individual(s) who hacked them.
