UK soccer ref charged for hacking league computers

Football Association referee Dean Mohareb was first arrested last year over claims that he hacked into a colleague’s email account to leak disparaging information.  At the time, Greater Manchester Police seized a number of electrical items from his home.

A former senior female figure within the FA, Janie Frampton, alleged that that private emails sent from her private FA account were hacked and exposed by Mohareb.

Frampton was dismissed by English football’s governing body for offering FA Cup semi-final tickets to British Airways staff in return for plane upgrades for a football tournament in the US.

Mohareb was suspended in February and has been the subject of an 18-month investigation into his conduct.

He stands accused of perverting the course of justice and of unauthorized access to computer data.
