Michael Erik Garcia

The Obama administration leaned on Michael Erik Garcia last year when it came to ensuring that the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace program accurately reflected the economics of cybersecurity in online commerce.

Garcia helped to direct interagency collaboration and private-sector outreach around NSTIC. In particular, he received kudos for navigating through more than 4,000 comments submitted with the public draft of NSTIC, which was released last summer.

Garcia’s involvement helps position the government as a source for reliable, secure online identity management, which many observers consider to be a game-changing strategy in securing electronic transactions that are increasingly important to the nation’s economy.
