Lack of direction slows cybersecurity

A series of high-profile cyberattacks -- including a suspected Chinese hack of Gmail, countless attempts on federal networks and a deadly computer worm that all but shut down Iran's nuclear power stations -- have helped make the Internet a top security concern. But browbeating over clandestine attacks and rogue Web infiltrations has not exactly jump-started legislation on the matter.
