Letter: Dissolve DHS

A reader writes to say the Department of Homeland Security should be dissolved over abuses.

Regarding "Data said lost on 3,000 TWIC card applicants"

The Department of Homeland Security is a mismanaged, useless money pit. Theft, pay-padding, cheating, good-old-boy protectionism, are all rampant. Dissolve it, we are in more danger from the cure than from the terrorists. Transportation Security Administration supervisors in Northern Michigan call one another with heads-up on Red Team tests. The terrorists have won, they have turned America into a bankrupt, corrupt, police state.
