Building Better Apps

As agencies roll out more public-facing mobile applications, three developers provide some unvarnished feedback.

The Idea

In October 2011, Nextgov asked three successful app entrepreneurs to weigh in on a dozen different government apps and tell us what worked, what didn't and how agencies could improve their apps. They rated the apps on a scale of 1-to-5, with 1 being a flop and 5 being Angry Birds. We're resuming that project with one new expert, and we'll be evaluating new apps every month going forward.
