The General Services Administration on Tuesday announced a permanent leader for its Federal Acquisition Service, which has seen a number of shifts in recent months.
Steve Kempf, who in March stepped up as FAS acting commissioner to replace a retiring Jim Williams, will serve as the office's permanent commissioner. Kempf began his GSA career in 1992 and has overseen its information technology schedules, governmentwide acquisition contracts, and network services program.
Also on Tuesday, GSA Administrator Martha Johnson named Jon Jordan FAS permanent deputy commissioner. Jordan has served as controller of the agency's General Management and Administration account and worked for the legacy Information Resources Managment Service. His most recent role was FAS acting deputy commissioner, a position he assumed in March.
