A White House transparency initiative announced the day after the Inauguration -- the details of which have been delayed for months -- is about to make a comeback, according to officials with the Office of Science and Technology Policy.

"Things are moving apace after a temporary thinning of the ranks at the end of August. There will be an update next week," said Rick Weiss, OSTP strategic communications director and senior science and technology policy analyst. He added that the White House's open government team will have "a major presence" at the Gov 2.0 Summit in Washington next week, which is hosted by technology publisher O'Reilly Media and media company TechWeb. Nextgov is a media sponsor of the event.
