Apps.gov is Live
Just ahead of Vivek Kundra's scheduled 1 p.m. announcement, the new cloud computing storefront, Apps.gov is live. The initial offerings include four categories of services currently offered by vendors on the GSA Schedules: Business Apps, Cloud IT Services, Productivity Apps and Social Media Apps.
Just ahead of Vivek Kundra's scheduled 1 p.m. announcement, the new cloud computing storefront, Apps.gov is live. The initial offerings include four categories of services currently available from vendors on the GSA Schedules: Business Apps, Cloud IT Services, Productivity Apps and Social Media Apps.
The Social Media section includes links to enroll in all the usual suspects: Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and many newer or less known options like Socrata and Disqus. Cloud services listed include cloud storage, software development, virtual machines and Web hosting, though none are available yet. Business Apps contains by far the most options, divided into broad categories like business intelligence and asset management.
