WHAT: A request for information and guidance on how the House's Office of the Chief Administrative Officer could migrate its websites to a public cloud.

WHY: The House Information Resources' Web Systems group develops and supports public-facing and internal House websites, including House.gov and sites for individual representatives and committees.

The House currently maintains an internal cloud architecture that supports the Drupal platform used on 350 sites. In addition, approved House vendors develop and maintain about 100 representative, leadership and committee sites, according to the RFI.

The RFI states that the House would like to move away from its on-premises technology infrastructure and take advantage of the low-cost, high-availability, quality of service and security cloud services can offer.

The House is seeking input from vendors on its cloud options, such as infrastructure as a service, managed services or platform as a service.
