Apple hopes its newest employee can have a positive impact on the environment.

Now that Apple has a new iPhone on the market, some users may be wondering what to do with their old device. While you can sell your phone to make some cash, Apple has introduced a new and exciting way to recycle your device.

The tech giant has built a robot, named Liam, which deconstructs iPhones piece by piece. By carefully removing and separating the screws from the chips, the materials that compose them like cobalt, lithium and tungsten can be put back into the global supply chain and repurposed.

Interested users can bring their old device to an Apple store or mail their device in for free.
