These bots do more than beep and boop.

Many people have been hoping for their very own adorable robot assistant since the first "Star Wars" movie out in 1977. Since then, technology has come a long way, and personal robots are now available for purchase. At this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a few friendly robots were on display

The UBtech Alpha 2 robot stands at about a foot and a half tall. The robot has voice recognition, but you can also control it via an app. Among other things, Alpha 2 can connect to your smart-home system and set your home alarm. It can also do a yoga routine with you.

Another home robot, the Tipron, features a projector. From 3 meters away, it can project an 80-inch screen. Tipron is also controlled via a smartphone app and can even be used as a secondary display for your device. The robot also contains an HDMI port, making it compatible with media streaming devices like a Google Chromecast.
