Smartphone users have several app options to help them reduce wasted water.

Water conservation isn't just for Californians currently in the middle of a drought. Everyone could stand to conserve more water and in the process, save some dough.

Smartphone users have several app options to help them reduce wasted water.

To learn how much water you currently use, try out H2O tracker, which uses a quiz to learn about your water habits or Water 1nder which tests your water-use knowledge.

Taking it one step further is DropCountr, which tracks water use in real-time by connecting to your water utility. However, it currently only works in a few counties in the country.
