Open Government Deadline Eve

Feb 6 marks the next deadline in the Obama administration's open government directive, the date by which agencies must have a new Web page up and running.

The pages, hosted at www.[agency].gov/open, provide space for public feedback on each agency's open government plan and the quality and prioritization of information released. Several agencies already have launched their sites, including:

• Office of Personnel Management
• Homeland Security
• State
• Agriculture
• Housing and Urban Development
• Energy
• Education

In Wednesday's Open for Questions session, Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra also announced the impending launch of a new dashboard that will rate the performance of each agency against the open government directive.
