Science Committee Chair to Retire

Government is losing another experienced representative in technology Rep. Bart Gordon, D-Tenn., chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, said he plans to retire, CongressDaily's Tech Daily Dose blog <a href="http://techdailydose.nationaljournal.com/2009/12/rep-gordon-to-retire.php">reports</a>.

Government is losing another experienced representative in technology Rep. Bart Gordon, D-Tenn., chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, said he plans to retire, CongressDaily's Tech Daily Dose blog reports.

While Gordon hasn't been a big name in government information technology circles, he has been in the House for 13 terms and his committee spent a lot of time on cybersecurity issues, including working on standards. Tech Daily Dose reports that Rep. Jerry Costello, D-Ill., plans to pursue the chairmanship of the panel in the next Congress.
