Video: Drones Take Center Stage at First-Ever Silicon Valley Fashion Show
A different kind of fashion week.
During most fashion weeks around the world, the focus is strictly on the clothes. But at Silicon Valley's first-ever fashion week, models weren't strutting down the runway. Instead, drones with hangars attached buzzed around and showed off designer duds.
Betabrand, a San Francisco-based company that uses crowdsourcing to design its clothes, hosted the event over the course of three days. The show focused on innovative, wearable tech such as solar-powered backpacks.
"It's giving a runway to people who would never find themselves on a runway normally," said Betabrand CEO Chris Lindland.
