Steven VanRoekel, the federal CIO, was set to testify before a Senate committee probing overlap and duplication in federal IT spending and programs on June 5, but the hearing was postponed so senators could attend the funeral of Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) who died June 3 at the age of 91.

Simon Szykman, CIO of the Commerce department, Frank Baitman, CIO of the Department of Health and Human Services, and David Powner, a technology specialist at the Government Accountability Office were set to join VanRoekel at the hearing. The Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee rescheduled the hearing to June 11 at 10:30 a.m.
