Paul Prouty fights back
A former GSA executive, forced out of the agency in the wake of the conference spending scandal, wants his case reviewed.
One former General Services Administration official is apparently not going away quietly.
Paul Prouty, former Rocky Mountain Region 8 commissioner for the GSA’s Public Building Service, lost his job after the agency came under scrutiny in April over excessive spending connected to the Western Regions Conference in 2010. But he’s taking his case to the Merit Systems Protection Board, according to Federal News Radio. Citing unnamed sources, the report suggests other officials who lost their jobs after the conference excesses came to light might also appeal.
Prouty was a career federal employee, having joined GSA in 1971. While at GSA, he became acting administrator for a short time in 2009 as the Obama administration settled in.
