Health Record Office Gets Interim Leader

Dave Wennergren, currently the assistant deputy chief management officer at the Pentagon, has been named interim director of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Department Interagency Program Office, Roger Baker, the VA chief information officer, told a media briefing Monday. The office is charged with development of the joint electronic health record.

Cmdr. Kathleen Kesler, a Defense spokeswoman, said Wennergren took the interim health record job on June 23 and will serve until a permanent director is selected within six months.

Wennergren served as the Defense deputy CIO from 2006 until last October, when he was appointed to the management job. He was Navy CIO from 2002 to 2006.
