OMB wants your ideas on savings
Administration officials will fund pilot projects to test new ways of saving money.
Obama administration officials are seeking some good ideas for saving money.
The Office of Management and Budget wants to support the ideas through its Partnership Fund for Program Integrity Innovation, which helps launch cutting-edge pilot programs.
Congress gave OMB $32.5 million in fiscal 2010 to test and evaluate potential innovations in the way the government operates. The fund's goals are to improve service delivery, increase the accuracy of government payments and streamline the administrative work related to the federal assistance programs that states handle.
“The first step in the Partnership Fund pilot selection process is the submission of a pilot idea summary,” OMB officials wrote in a notice in the June 6 Federal Register. Read the notice, which tells how to submit ideas.
The best ideas will be sent to an independent forum of experts, who will develop them into more detailed concept papers.
OMB is seeking ideas from anyone in the public, academic or private sector.
