General Dynamics Pursues Defense Heath IT

General Dynamics, an outfit that builds Army tanks and Navy ships, inked a deal last Friday with McKesson, a heath IT company, to jointly pursue the Defense Department's next-generation electronic health record system.

That puts General Dynamics in direct competition with its neighbor at the Fairview Park office complex in Falls Church, Va., Computer Sciences Corp, which I hear also plans to go after the same opportunity.

So, officials from both companies need to be very careful not to discuss their plans for Defense health IT business in the upcoming months at Fairview Park's world famous Salmon Run outdoor dining area.
