IT Management Awards

During their annual Executive Leadership Conference, the American Council for Technology and the Industry Advisory Council on Monday recognized six private sector and federal workers for their outstanding contributions to the federal IT community.

David Wennergren, deputy chief information officer at the Defense Department and co-chairman of the CIO Council, won the President's Award for his ongoing efforts to encourage his peers in government to pursue opportunities for collaboration and cooperation with the private sector. Wennergren also has been a leader in encouraging government to be open to cultural and technological changes in order to attract a younger cadre of IT workers.

Mary Davie, an assistant commissioner at the General Services Administration, received the award for government contributor of the year, and Diedre Murray, business development principal at Qwest Communications, won the Janice K. Mendenhall Hall Spirit of Leadership Award for her dedication to strengthening government and industry relations.

Other winners were:

Habib Nasibdar of USMAX Corp. was recognized as Rookie of the Year for his efforts in forging a strong relationship with GSA on cloud computing issues.

Ed Meagher of CSC won the IAC Chair's Award for his leadership as chair of the IAC VistA project.

Onelia Codrington of Performance Value Management won the Industry Contributor of the Year Award.
