Lab seeks help in hiring workforce

The California Institute of Technology’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory needs workers with hard-to-find skills.

The California Institute of Technology’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is pulling together a workforce for various tasks and wants to find out how industry can help with the hiring process. The laboratory has issued a request for information to find out what industry can provide. That includes finding workers with scarce skills and ensuring the lab’s requirements are passed down to vendors. Contractors must describe the type of project managers and other staff members who would be assigned to the laboratory’s program. They must also describe what Vendor Management System software would be used, including its architecture and capabilities and its ability to interface with Oracle and other laboratory software. Laboratory officials are also interested in learning about what experience contractors have with software modifications. Contractors must also describe the metrics they will use to measure vendor performance and customer satisfaction.
