VA Taps White House Tech Adviser Marina Martin as New CTO

Consultant served as senior adviser to White House CTO Todd Park.

The Veterans Affairs Department has selected Marina Martin as its new chief technology officer, replacing Peter Levin, who resigned in March after serving in the post for three years.

VA has yet to make a formal announcement of Martin’s appointment. Instead, Jonah Czerwinski, director of VA's Center for Innovation, tweeted the news: “We have a new CTO at @DeptVetAffairs! Welcome to @MarinaMartin!”

Martin, according to her website bio, is a business efficiency consultant, former CEO of business efficiency consulting firm The Type-A Way, and author of Business Efficiency for Dummies.

She has served as senior adviser to White House CTO Todd Park and was the first entrepreneur-in-residence at the Education Department.

Her bio said Park views her as one "the baddest of the badass innovators.”
