The Department of the Navy CIO shop has canceled its West Coast information technology conference scheduled for Jan 28-30 due to tighter Defense Department policies on travel and conference spending.
Navy and Marine folks planning to attend the conference are instructed to cancel all travel and lodging reservations as soon as possible.
The concurrent AFCEA West Conference at the San Diego Convention Center is still on, the Navy CIO said, and local commands are “encouraged to attend when no travel costs will be incurred.”
