The Navy needs a new Executive Dining Facility Software System for the Pentagon dining room used by the Navy Secretary and high level guests.
In simple English, this is a plain vanilla computerized point-of-sale system restaurants around the country use to manage operations in a dining room that serves “five-star quality meals,” according to a 2009 Navy press release.
The Navy Supply Systems Command also said it wants the new dining system to include Apple tablet computers for use by servers or managers. That’s as good a way as any to start filtering tablets into the top of the Navy and Marine chains of command.
