HP Enterprise Services won a $10.4 million contract from the Veterans Affairs Department Monday to provide a WiFi-based Real Time Location System to the Ann Arbor, Mich., VA hospital.
WiFi tags can be used to track the location of all kinds of assets inside buildings, and since VA operates more than 150 hospitals, this could be the start of something big.
Hopefully VA Chief Information Officer Roger Baker will explain the next stages in the Real Time Location System roll-out during his monthly press briefing Wednesday.
