Evidently I have some real eagle-eyed readers in the intelligence community, because I received a note pointing out that I had a slight misspelling when referring to counter-intelligence in my continuing coverage of the thumb-drive ban.
A Marine reader (I know because only Marines sign off "Semper Fidelis") pointed out that Joel Brenner does not run the DNI Counter-Intelligence Office. Nope. This reader pointed out that "in the intelligence community counterintelligence is all one word."
Speaking of Marines, I'll be covering the Naval IT Day, sponsored by the AFCEA Northern Virginia Chapter, in Tysons Corner, Va., on March 4. I have great hopes that the lunch speaker, Gen. James Cartwright, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will help resolve the thumb-drive issue. He's not shy when it comes to cybersecurity.
