Greg Schaffer, Assistant Secretary for Cybersecurity Communications at the Homeland Security Department is leaving the agency, effective today, Politico and Federal Computer Week reported.
DHS secretary Janet Napolitano appointed Schaffer to his position in June 2009. He previously served as deputy undersecretary of the National Protection and Programs Directorate as well as assistant secretary of cybersecurity.
The agency has not given word on a replacement. Schaffer will return to Arkansas with his family, according to Politico.
