This will be the first industry day for the 7-year-old command.

U.S. Cyber Command will hold its first ever industry day Oct. 27 in Springfield, Va., a CYBERCOM official confirmed to Nextgov Friday.

The program for the industry day is still developing and more details will be coming out shortly, a CYBERCOM spokesman said.

CYBERCOM Chief Information Officer George Bartko announced the industry day during a cybersecurity summit Wednesday hosted by the government tech publication FCW.

The industry day marks another level of maturity for the 7-year-old command, which was recently elevated to a full combatant command and is scheduled to reach full operational capability next year.

It will also give industry a shot at $75 million per year in cyber acquisition authority that Congress granted to CYBERCOM in the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act.
