The women’s clothing chain bebe stores inc. says hackers stole customer card data from stores nationwide for a period of several weeks.

The data accessed may have included cardholder name, account number, expiration date, and verification code.

Purchases made though bebe’s website, mobile site/application, or in Canada or other international stores were not affected.

Before the chain disclosed the hack, KrebsOnSecurity on Thursday reported that several banks had spotted a pattern of fraudulent charges on customer credit cards that all had been used at bebe locations. Some of the stolen cards, which this week went on sale in the online black market , all turned out to have been used at stores during a two week period in the latter half of November.
