eBay's System Can't Handle All the People Trying to Change Their Passwords at Once

eBay has had a rough 24 hours.

EBay has had a rough 24 hours. First, their website posted a password change request with no follow up information , then they confirmed a security breach, and now the system that allows password changes is failing.

Due to the overwhelming number of users changing their passwords at once, eBay is displaying this message to many users who click the password reset link:

The password reset email which connects the reset link to this failing website is also experiencing issues. Rather than sending within seconds of a password reset request, as is the norm, it takes several minutes to arrive. Not a major issue for customers, but an indication of the pressure on eBay's password systems.

If you experience this "Page not available" error, try resetting your password again, and eventually, you should be able to get through to the next step.
