Intruders nick British military data by sneaking into defense contractor’s system

Hackers poached UK Ministry of Defence data by invading the network of at least one of the agency’s contractors.

Government departments are” targeted via attacks on industry suppliers which may hold government information on their own systems. We have been told that cyber espionage ‘[has] resulted in MOD data being stolen.’ This has both security and financial consequences for the UK,” states Parliament's annual Intelligence and Security Committee report.

It is unclear what type of or how much information was compromised.
