The Office of Personnel Management on Friday announced the 2010 winners of the Chief Human Capital Officers Council leadership awards. Taking home the award for working group of the year was none other than the Human Resources IT group, which is led by DHS CHCO Jeffrey Neal.
The HR IT working group was recognized for its work in designing and implementing the plan that led to the overhaul of USAJOBS.gov. Two other key members of the working group were deputy CHCOs Rodney Markham from the Justice Department and Bill Fleming from the Treasury Department, OPM said.
Other CHCO award winners were:
John Sepulveda of the Veterans Affairs Department received CHCO of the Year for successfully chairing two major working groups -- one on veterans affairs and the other on hiring reform.
Rita Franklin of the Energy Department received Deputy CHCO of the Year for her work over the past five years on improving the federal HR profession. This year, she held a leadership role in creating a training and development program for HR professionals.
